DESCRIPTION:

Tylosin is an antibiotic in the macrolide group used against pneumonia, hemorrhagic septicemia, mastitis, conjunctivitis, leptospirosis, mycoplasma, etc. in various domestic animals such as sheep, goats, cattle, pigs and poultry.

INDICATIONS:

Tylosin Injection is indicated for use in the treatment of bovine respiratory complex (shipping fever, pneumonia) usually associated with Pasteurella multocida and Actinomyces pyogenes; gomosis (necrotic FPD) and diphtheria in calves caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum and metritis caused by Actinomyces pyogenes in cattle and non-lactating dairy cattle.

In pigs, Tylosin Injection is indicated for use in treating arthritis in pigs caused by Mycoplasma hyosynoviae; pneumonia in pigs caused by Pasteurella spp; erysipelas in pigs caused by Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae; acute dysentery in pigs associated with Treponema hyodysenteriae when followed by appropriate medication in drinking water and/or food.

DOSE AND ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION:

  • Intramuscularly, Subcutaneously.
  • Cattle, Sheep, Goats and Pigs: Administer 1 ml per every 20 kg of body weight every 24 hours for 3-5 days.
  • Fattening Poultry and Turkeys: Administer 0.15ml per every 1kg of body weight every 24 hours for 3 days.

  • Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity.

STORAGE:

Storage in dry and cool places. Protected from direct sunlight. Store between 0° and 30° C.

ADVERSE REACTIONS:

In pigs, edema has been observed in the rectal mucosa and vulvar, rectal prolapse, diarrhea, erythema and pruritus across the skin. They have frequently observed local reactions with necrosis and hemorrhage. In cattle it has been observed increase in pulse rate, tachypnea and vulvar swelling. Rarely allergic reactions, anaphylactic shock and death have been observed.
