COMPOSITION:

• Iron Dextran.............................................100 mg
• Excipients q.s.............................................1 ml

TARGET SPECIES:

Cattle, pigs, dogs, cats, sheep and goats.

INDICATIONS:

Iron Dextran 10% Umavet® is indicated in cases of severe anemia with iron deficiency, clinically used commonly and regularly to treat anemia with iron deficiency in piglets, calves newborn of little vitality to improve breeding fur animals, dogs, rabbits, minks, foxes.

DOSE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Iron Dextran 10% Umavet® is administered deep intramuscularly

Pigs

• Piglets: 1.5 - 2 ml at 3 - 4 days old.
• Adults: 10 ml.

Cattle

• Calves: 5 ml, the first week of life.
• Adults: 5-10ml.

ADVERSE EFFECTS:

When excessive doses are administered over prolonged intervals, there may be an overload of the medicine and toxicosis. The accumulation of iron in the body can manifest by two known states: hemosiderosis and hemochromatosis

PRECAUTION:

Iron Dextran 10% Umavet® should not be used when there is a serious deterioration of the hepato-renal function.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:

It does not require waiting time in milk. For meat should pass 7 days after the last treatment.
