ANTIBACTERIAL BOLUS

COMPOSITION:
- Oxytetracycline..........................................500mg
- Vehicle q.s.................................................1bolus
TARGET SPECIES:
Cattle, Horses, Goats, Dogs, Cats, Sheep and Pigs.
INDICATIONS:
The bolus is recommended for the control and treatment of the following diseases of dairy calves and fattening caused by organisms sensitive to Oxytetracycline: Bacterial enteritis (diarrhea) caused by Salmonella typhimurium and Escherichia coli (colibacillosis); bacterial pneumonia (shipping fever, pasteurollosis) caused by Pasteurella multocida.
Intrauterine administration for the prevention of post-partum metritis. Treatment of vaginitis, cervicitis, metritis, pyometra, retained placenta in cows, sheep and goats. Vibrio Fortus infection.
DOSE AND ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION:
Administration: Oral and Intrauterine.
ANIMAL
ORAL DOSE:
- Cattle and Horses………………1-3 boluses.
- Pigs, Goats and Sheep……...1/2-2 boluses.
- Dogs and Cats………………..…1/2-1 bolus.
INTRAUTERINE DOSE:
- Cattle and Horses…………….2-4 boluses.
- Pigs, Sheep, Goats….…….1/2-1 bolus.
- Dogs and Cats………...……1/4-1 boluses.
The dose should be continued until the animal back to normal and for 24 to 48 hours after symptoms have decreased. Treatment should not exceed four consecutive days.
STORAGE:
Storage in dry and cool places. Protected from direct sunlight. Store between 0° and 30° C.
CONTRAINDICATIONS OR RESTRICTIONS:
Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the drug. Dystocia due to abnormal presentation. Cardiovascular diseases. • Females with a predisposition to uterine rupture. • Use with caution in toxemia. • When there is no dilation of the cervix (the induction of labor).
